To turn meeting notes into tasks, ask your AI assistant to extract concrete actions from notes you provide, review its draft, then save the approved items to World's Best To-Do List (WBTDL) through MCP. Keep unresolved questions separate so a suggestion doesn't quietly become a commitment.
The WBTDL connection doesn't record meetings or fetch transcripts. Start with the notes already in your conversation, or paste the relevant section yourself. If you haven't connected an assistant yet, the Claude setup guide is one way to get started.
Separate actions from things people mentioned
Consider these example notes from a website review:
- Maya will send revised homepage copy.
- I will test the signup form after the new copy is ready.
- We might add customer stories later. No decision yet.
There are two follow-ups here. Leave the customer stories idea out of the task list until someone agrees to act on it. Try this before saving:
Extract the agreed actions from these notes. For each, suggest a short task title, the owner if stated, and whether it depends on someone else. List open questions separately. Don't invent owners or dates, and don't save anything yet.
Choose where the tasks belong
Ask your assistant to read the existing pages and categories. Choose the destination before it creates the tasks. A shared Website page might make sense for work everyone needs to see; your personal list might only need “Follow up with Maya on homepage copy.”
An assistant can assign a task to Maya if she's already a member of that task's shared page. Putting her name in a title doesn't assign it. If you want to share an owned page with someone new, that is a separate action that can grant access or send an invitation, subject to team seat limits. Review the sharing and assignment limits before asking for that change.
Save the agreed work, then check it
Once the draft looks right, tell your assistant exactly which items to add. Have it check the existing list first so last week's unfinished task doesn't get another copy. Ask for the saved titles and their page, category, and assignee afterward.
In this example, “Test signup form with revised homepage copy” can wait until the copy arrives. The assistant can set it to waiting, but WBTDL's MCP tools don't create an automatic dependency that reopens it when Maya finishes. You'll need to review and update it.
At the next check-in, use the saved list as the starting point. Ask which tasks are still waiting and what information you need to move them forward. Our waiting-on review gives you a prompt for that conversation. It beats extracting the same actions from the same notes again.
